1943 Permit Stamp for Parcels to Theresienstadt
About this issue
An undenominated stamp with a rural landscape – not postage but a permit: from 10 July 1943 it had to be on every parcel of food or clothing sent to prisoners in Theresienstadt. A prisoner could ask for a parcel once every two months, and the Jewish Council in Prague then handed or mailed the stamp to the sender. For most of those held there, Theresienstadt was a stop on the way to the death camps.
